Sherman-What do you feel about new ae changes on Vega(Claw)?

There is only one significant improvement. Capcom made cosmic heel safer by one frame. On paper it is still throwable, so many characters get a free jab.
But in the practical sphere, this will be very hard. I say this, because at this moment, it is at -4, but many people, even the intermediate players ad top players, still miss the punish, even if the cosmic heel is done close.
The other improvements to Ultra one, and sky high claw are not significant. Using the latter as an example, the knockdown off sky high claw is not worth the risk at all. Any player can punish it with ultra or damaging special moves. It’s that easy to react to.

The improvement to Ultra 2 is minor as well but I’d like to keep my judgement of it in a tentative state. I will wait to see it in AE

Sherman-Who do you think are the top 5 in the new ae?
Raymus-Boxer Ken Sagat.Not sure about the other 2.(Raymus also mentioned that it is still too early to tell.)

Sherman-What are the things you are looking forward in ae?
Raymus- Nothing in particular. My character did not change much, so it would not affect my experience. But if I want to improve my experience, I need to improve, and to improve, I have to change, and people are helping me more now, so I see that happening soon. I look to improve in the next version, and hopefully the seemingly more balanced roster would provide better stimulus… somehow

Sherman-Who are you looking forward to use in the new soul calibur?
Raymus- Hildegarde. She was new in SC4, and had a really interesting design, So I got down to work, and discovered how to play her. I managed to ‘break’ her and she became a top character. Even the Japanese had to learn from my Hilde… … So I have a pride and attachment to her. Moreover, she looks really strong in Soul Calibur 5. Definitely not as overpowered in 4, but still very solid, and she still plays the same. Her style is very suited to my ultra-safe, movement heavy style.
However, I am prepared to change, if another character is stronger, and could accommodate the same way of thinking.

Sherman-What are the tips that you can give to the newcomers and the beginners in soul calibur?
Raymus-To 2D gamers, you need to get used to the mixup system. It’s mid or low, not a matter of crossups or throws and counterhit traps. Get used to the changed risk-reward at the ring-edge. In SF we say that you’d likely die if you get hit in the corner. In high level SC you WILL die. Change the strategy accordingly. Be assured that it is not easy to ring out at high levels of play.
Also, 3D games are more mixup heavy, since characters cross distances faster. You can run up and throw in many situations. In 2D, it is very hard for this to happen. Except characters like Abel or Makoto, it is immensely hard to set up situations where they can come up to close range in one swift movement for a substantial mix up.
Oh, get used to the guard button.

So the story begins with me playing with my old buddy,Haw Seow(who you all know is our good buddy in Malaysia who uses bison as well though he playing viper now.:P)After a few matches with Haw Seow,he decided to take a rest and I having nobody online to play with decided to play with all the nihonjins.

Though I have a old looking 3 years old xbox,I rarely play ranked battles with the japanese because my connection at my home is not really encouraging for a good online experience.There were countless times that I play with Player A and  then I play with Player A again and teo kicked.
So the only time I play my xbox is to play with friends(mostly haw seow) in endless battle.(That is to clear the myth that I play with Japanese when I am on the xbox cos   people that I talked to say,”Wah.You everyday train with japanese la.” The answer is,”No lo.”

To continue back the story,I went to the ranked battle and went for custom match.There are quite a few notable people that I saw like yhcmochi,takahoko,takehiko(Akimo),pikagoma and kof2002um..(There were some players that I nv saw b4 but have very high bp too.)

Most of the matches I did pretty okay except playing with yhcmochi where I got owned quite badly.(Cannot even get in.) Some of the notable games that I have was with takahoko chun li.(He was counterpoking my moves(using far.stmp to beat my st.mk) and not entering into the range of my lk sk dist.So I have to play very carefully and not to throw out any moves recklessly.)

The other game that was notable was with kof2002um.Had much trouble getting in and was constantly moving away from my sk dist.One thing he did was after my lk sk,there is a dist he just walk back and block instead of crouching block.I was not able to lockdown him.:(

Chionging is a bit hard cos they keep looking out for the moves you like to do most at that distance and you have to think twice b4 doing the move.There were some games that I play a little reckless like with one random sagat player and teo tiger shot to death.Most of the matches I win was literally running the clock down.So tat’s all folk.

One of the most famous safe jumps which players are familiar with is the akuma safe jump:

After forward throw,dash twice,jump hk

The thing is,I realise that you can actually substitute a normal instead of doing a dash and it would be a safe jump also.For akuma,you can substitute a cr.mp instead of doing a dash and it is safe also.The same thing also goes for ken safe jump:

After forward throw,walk forward one step,walk backward one step,jump hk

Instead of doing the walk backward one step,you can actually do a st.lp to substitute the walk backward one step and it would be a safe jump also.

So tat’s basically today’s post.

For around 2 months I started playing yun,then I realised that my execution with shoto is going to be very tough for me lols.So I giving up yun and try out other some other chars to train my execution such as yang,fei long,oni,evil ryu,ken,sagat and dee jay.Currently,I am not able to make it with any of these chars also.:(

So for now,I am stuck with Mr Bison for now and trying out new things with it.Hit confirm slide fadc(if the opponent gets hit by the slide,you dun fadc.) seems to be better than I tot.Though it burns two bars and deal only 100 damage if hit,most of the opponents I play with kena the slide so I guess it may a viable tactic to use for now.

The other thing I wanted to try was the dash forward st.hp to catch late tech slam but most players I know do early tech lols and also some players have decent reaction like gackt so I am in doubt using it lols.

Anyway,some people may notice why I stop using Bison for a while is because I realised I have a one big problem.I cannot lay still for 10 seconds though strangely when I fight fei long,I can sit still.For example if I fight char like sagat,I have temptation to chiong the sagat even I have the life lead…And then I kena tiger shot or some normals and then lose the game…

I also have problems fighting with Balrog because of that,like I have the life lead I go chiong Balrog and then kena dash punch when it is better to hold downback and sit at a distance and react to its special moves lols.And the other thing I stop playing Bison is because it is rrly a boring char.

It is too rigid and also the combo that Bison have is zzz.Almost all the other chars I play is more fun and enjoyable…But again,it seems that I also stuck with him because of my execution.Haiz…

I think it was because of that I do not like to slam person until he die even though I know the person is afraid of tick throws.Besides that,I could have a huge life lead and then lose in the end because I felt that ‘thrashing’ your opponent was not a nice thing to do.

I remembered that Paul aka VintageSoul told me that I needed killer instinct.To be very honest,even after hearing and taking heed to it,it took me a long time to have that which really improved my games afterward.(Thinking of that now,I seem to become more heartless lol.The person scared slam just slam lor lol and just abuse people weaknesses.)

Killer instinct means that you going to play dirty.

It means that:

1.You abuse weakness and bad habit

2.Play turtle and time out

3.The person playing against you kb you.

To summarize it up,you play to win,not to please.

I also reconstructing the blog in the way that,IT IS NO SF4 only.So generally,it would be more personal and more of other games related.

Life In Sembawang

I realised that my hair was too long and decide to go out and cut.So one of the place that I would go cut would be Sembawang Shopping Center.I like to go to this place because it would be Aston time where I would always order a Chargrill chicken and one Snapple drink,preferably grape flavor.

There was a new shop which I nv seen the name b4 but it sells bread and laksa like Toastbox.I decided to save up for my parents and decide to eat there.I browsed through the menu and there was only one thing that was appealing to me.

So went to eat that and  after eating that,I  went up to the second floor where the barber shop is held.And I behold the sign,”Lunch hour” and I was like thrown off.I had to wait for 30 minutes and decide to spend time at Challenger and the Popular.

I was hoping to find Heroes V Might and Magic in the shelf of Challenger and as expected,I find none.In the end I spend most of the time in Popular reading.Want to guess what kind of book I read?

Self help book lol.The book title was fucking epic.The title was,Dealing with Difficult People.Recently,there are so many difficult people that I had to handle and it did help a bit in the way that I was laughing at the content.(P.S-It was talking about different kinds of difficult people and it highlighted people that I faced in my life lol.)

After spending like 30 minutes or so reading,I went to the barber and after that I took the free shuttle bus and went home.
